stream track bike
All sounds created by my 1997 Mongoose (pre-Brunswick soul-less corporate buyout)
Surge hardtail. I'd love to make some new music with the two other bicycles I ride in
an obsessive manner and maybe even include my wife's recumbent and a friends'
recumbent currently being stored here.

stream track balloon
All sounds were generated using a small inflatable toy balloon. The sounds were then modified using Granulab and Audiomulch

stream track it's hard to ride a bicycle in the desert
All sounds on this track came from my daughter Chloë's bicycle, a small purple one with fringes on the handlebars.
There's a video for this one on YouTube. (speleman62)

stream track shorts
This was recorded at the fine facilities of the Columbia U Computer Music Center using amazingly huge cheap nylon shorts as the sole instrument.

I found that by spreading my legs while sitting down, the crotch of the vast shorts (which ordinarily hung about 4 inches below my crotch, mind you) would become flat and tight like a drum. I then close-miked the crotch area while scraping my fingernails across the surface for drone-like effects. The percussion is me hitting the tightened crotch area. Obviously everything has been processed quite a lot using a variety-pak of ProTools plugins.

I'm really glad no one walked in the studio while I was recording this.

I like this ambiance, very hypnotising. Good work :-)

stream track mechmarawarriorthon
This piece combines sounds from 2 classic games, Mechwarrior and Marathon. I love the sound design in these games. Again, most of the work is done by ProTools plugins.
